Meet Dr. Chalon L. Ervin

Originally from Seattle, Dr. Chalon L. Ervin's career as a mental health professional stems from her time as an undergraduate at Spelman College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Upon graduating from Spelman, she went on to obtain her Doctor of Psychology at Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.

Although Dr. Ervin has treated a diverse range of patients and disorders, much of her clinical work has centered on veterans and trauma recovery. Her past positions include the Atlanta VA Medical Center, West Virginia's Huntington VA, and Washington's Puget  Sound VAMC.  Regarding her "couch-side manner," Dr. Ervin has been praised for lending a patient and attentive ear as she accompanies clients on their optimal wellness journey.

Aside from treating patients, Dr. Ervin is an active member of the mental health awareness movement. From her practice, Dr. Ervin has witnessed  the harmful stigmas surrounding mental illness and their ability to isolate our loved ones. In 2018, Dr. Ervin participated in a three-part series on Bellevue's 91.3 KBCS where she discussed misperceptions on mental health amongst communities of color.
